It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Doctoral Seminar I and Doctoral Seminar II sessions of the Joint PhD in Education. I would like to congratulate those of you who are commencing your studies on your successful admission to the program, as well as extend congratulations to those of you returning this summer on your accomplishments throughout the year.
This summer The Joint PhD program enters it’s 20th year! The summer doctoral courses provide an exciting venue for launching the new academic year, and marking this auspicious occasion. Your summer instructors have worked diligently to develop an engaging, informative, and thought-provoking program intended to promote thoughtful, provocative, and engaging discussions, deliberations, and reflections. The summer doctoral courses will provide you with a unique opportunity to develop and foster collegial relationships and friendships that will sustain and energize you throughout your academic studies and beyond. The summer courses also provide a unique opportunity to explore the campus and the surrounding area. I strongly encourage you to take some time to explore and enjoy the Windsor region, including the waterfront and perhaps a trip across the border.
I look forward to the opportunity to meet with you collectively and individually during the summer session. In the interim, I wish you a productive and enjoyable spring term and safe travels.
Director, Joint PhD in Educational Studies
