Welcome from the Associate Dean, Graduate Studies and Research, Faculty of Education, University of Windsor
Welcome to The City of Roses and the University of Windsor. We are situated along the shores of the Detroit River, one of the busiest inland waterways in the world. The University sits on the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, which includes the Ojibwa, the Odawa, and the Potawatomie. The rich and diverse history of the University dates back to its time as Assumption College, which received its charter to provide a liberal education in 1858. Since 1963, as the University of Windsor, we have grown to a student population of approximately 16,000 students and offer a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs, including, of course, our partnership in the Joint PhD in Educational Studies program.
We hope that during your time with us this July you will find many opportunities to make long-lasting connections that will bolster your academic success and ground you in a supportive and socially engaging community of learners.
Safe travels and best wishes,
Glenn Rideout, PhD (Graduate of the 2nd Joint PhD cohort) Associate Dean, Graduate Studies and Research
